LAKIOO Player for raspberry
Installation Guide
If you already have a 64bit version of Raspberry Pi OS installed, you can skip to step 21.
1. Pick an SD card you want to use for your Raspberry Pi, we recommend using an SD card with at least 32GB of storage. Warning: All data will be lost so back it up!
2. Insert the SD card into your PC and flash the OS onto it, we recommend using Raspberry Pi Imager
3. Once you’ve installed Imager, launch the application by clicking the Raspberry Pi Imager icon
4. Click Choose device and select your Raspberry Pi model from the list. We officially support Raspberry Pi 5
5. Then click Choose OS and select Raspberry Pi OS (64bit) with Desktop
6. After that, click Choose storage and select your storage device. Keep in mind that all data will be deleted!
7. When prompted with OS Customisation, select No.
8. You will be warned, that all existing data on your selected storage device will be lost, if you agree with this Yes.
9. Wait until the process finises and verifies the installation files.
10. Wait for the process to finish and click continue. You have now successfully prepared your SD card for your Raspberry Pi
11. Insert your SD card into your Raspberry Pi, connect your Pi’s video output to the screen, plug in mouse and keyboard, and lastly connect the power supply and turn the Pi ON
12. Upon turning the Raspberry Pi ON, you will be greeted by the OS setup. Click Next to move to the next step.
13. Now setup your preferred language, keyboard type, timezone and country you are located in and click Next
14. Enter your username and password, you will need the password later to install or update the LAKIOO Player app
15. Connect to either a WiFi network, or a wired network – Without access to internet you won’t be able to activate the LAKIOO Player license!
16. Choose your preferred web browser, this doesn’t affect LAKIOO Player in any way
17. If you want to, you can connect your Raspberry to you Raspberry Pi Connect account, this is optional and not needed for LAKIOO Player
18. The last step in the OS setup process is checking for updates, we recommend to always check for updates
19. If any updates are available, they will be downloaded, please wait for the update to finish.
20. The OS setup is now finished, click restart and boot into the OS.
21. Download the LAKIOO Player Setup for Raspberry Pi on your device, or onto a USB drive
22. Locate the setup file, right-click and select “Package Install”
23. Wait until the setup finishes, then open start menu in the top left corner, select accessories and click LAKIOO Player
24. Because this is a fresh installation of LAKIOO Player, you will be greeted by our Quick setup guide. If you already own the LAKIOO Player for Android license key, enter it here and click on “Activate“, if you don’t own one yet, you can click on “Start free 7-day trial”.
25. After entering your licence key or starting a free trial, enter a name for your player and choose a password. Then click “Apply settings” and continue to the next step.
26. Optional – Log in to your LAKIOO Cloud account, creating the account is completely free, you can register here: LAKIOO Cloud Registration LAKIOO Cloud account is not necessary, in order to use LAKIOO Player.
27. You have just completed Quick setup – in order to finalize the setup process, click the “Play project” button.
28. You can now import a project. The project can be imported into any LAKIOO Player by saving it onto a USB drive and plugging it into your Raspberry Pi.
29. Wait for “Project transfer finished successfully” message, after it dissappears you can safely unplug the USB drive.
30. Alternatively, if you have already logged into LAKIOO Cloud, you can use it instead, and publish a project to your player(s) from anywhere in the world!
31. And that’s it, enjoy your fresh insallation of LAKIOO Player.
